Giant tortoises by Panayiotis Kadanis

The giant tortoises live in the Galapagos Islands. In our days, they face extinction.
The giant tortoise can weigh up to 400 pounds and can be up to 1.4 metres long. It has a black hard shell. The tortoise moves very slowly, at a speed of just 0.21 km per hour and it is a vegeterian.
This species is threatened by people; they destroy its natural habitat and hunt the animal for its meat.
Can we do anything to save it?
